Testimonials

“As an expectant mother, I cannot emphasize enough how fortunate I was to have had the incredible support and guidance of Izzy during my pregnancy, labor, and postpartum period. I wholeheartedly believe that she played a pivotal role in making my birth experience both empowering and transformative. From our very first meeting she exuded warmth, compassion, and expertise. She took the time to listen attentively to my desires, concerns, and fears, creating a safe space for me to express myself openly. Her extensive knowledge of childbirth and her ability to provide evidence-based information were truly invaluable. She not only helped me understand the various stages of labor, but she also guided me in making informed decisions about my birth plan, ensuring that it aligned with my preferences and values. During labor, Izzy’s unwavering presence was a constant source of reassurance for both myself and my husband. She supported me emotionally and physically, offering gentle encouragement and suggesting coping techniques that helped me navigate the intensity of contractions. Her calming presence and reassuring words helped me maintain focus and confidence throughout the entire process. I truly felt like she was an integral part of my birth team, working seamlessly with my partner and the medical staff to create a harmonious environment conducive to the birthing experience I had envisioned. But the support didn't end with the birth. Izzy continued to provide unwavering assistance during the postpartum period, offering guidance on breastfeeding, newborn care, and emotional well-being. She shared invaluable resources and connected me with local support. What sets her apart is her genuine passion for her work and her ability to foster deep connections. She went above and beyond, checking in on me regularly and providing a listening ear whenever I needed it. Her empathy and non-judgmental attitude made me feel understood and validated, creating a strong bond of trust that I will always cherish. In summary, having her as our doula was one of the best decisions I made during my pregnancy journey. I wholeheartedly recommend her services to any expectant parent seeking emotional and physical support throughout the transformative process of childbirth. Rest assured that you will receive an unparalleled level of care, expertise, and compassion with Izzy on your team.” - MS, birth and postpartum client 2023

Izzy was our postpartum doula for our first baby from October '23 through January '24. We knew Izzy had professional cooking skills and were excited to have the support of someone who could be trusted with our newborn and also help us eat nourishing food. Most importantly, she is fantastic with babies. Our son loved her, and it was such a relief to be able to hand him over to her in order to do the things that help a new mom/dad feel like a normal person again, like working out and showering. My husband and I often spent a majority of time during her visits just sitting and talking with her. With Izzy's vast experience, she was incredibly helpful in providing advice and encouragement, and could do all that while cooking. She taught me how to use my pump, taught us how to give our son his first bottle, and even provided advice on things like baths, diaper changes, and cradle cap. As a new mom, Izzy helped me feel "held" when everyone else in my life was clamoring to hold my baby. The early weeks of postpartum was an emotional time for me, and she helped me process my birth after the shock had settled, and to prepare for my 6-week postpartum OB visit. She helped us cut through the confusing world of baby product marketing and find needed products that were tried and true. She also spent time during some of her visits leading me through a gentle yoga practice when I was craving movement (all while she held my sleeping baby!). Her cooking skills FAR exceeded our expectations. She has an extensive library of recipes and tailored her selections each week based on our preferences, what we had on-hand, and even special requests, and absolutely everything she made was excellent. We decided to hire Izzy as a postpartum doula mainly for the food skills and the baby skills, but what we received from Izzy was so much more than we could have imagined. She helped us grow in our competence and confidence as new parents, and THAT is worth more than we can put into words.” - MS, postpartum client 2023

"I truly believe I was able to have a labor I was proud of because Izzy was by my side. Her voice in my ear – "breathe down to baby" – reminded me what all of this was for. Not only was she fully supportive of me during labor, but also in the murky, unknown post-labor world, when my body was being repaired and I was "touched-out" – she stood there as a beacon of comfort. And in the days/weeks following, having someone other than my partner to process my birth story with - she, too, witnessed my body's greatness (!) and reminded me that all the complex things I was holding were natural and O.K. Along with the spiritual and emotional comfort, was the physical: she always saw that I rested and ate well. From oven-baked curry salmon to soft, chewy date bars (that satisfied many late-night breastfeeding hunger pangs) I felt so cared for. I would recommend Izzy's services to anyone seeking a partner and witness to the marvelous and life-changing experience that is birth and postpartum." - LD, birth and postpartum client 2023

“Izzy was invaluable as our postpartum doula with our 2nd baby. She whipped up countless nourishing meals, sometimes while babywearing or playing with our 3-year-old. We wish we had Izzy by our sides with our 1st baby, when the newborn phase was a complete shock with unexpected lactation, feeding, and postpartum challenges. She was a breath of fresh air, helping us rest with ease, talk through any mama or baby concerns, and support our family's transitions like becoming a sibling, postpartum healing, returning to work, bottle feeding, etc. “ - AI, postpartum client 2023

“I would 100% recommend Izzy as a post-partum doula. We were so lucky to have Izzy grace our home in those fuzzy first months of parenthood, each week she was over it felt like an old friend was coming by. Her food was always so tasty and nourishing, and catered to the needs of my body at the time (blood restoration, milk supply support, etc.). She would come in for a few hours and prepare a few week's worth of meals almost effortlessly, leaving us with a warm meal for the day and a stocked fridge and freezer for the near and far future. She helped with dishes, cleaning pump parts, and any other needs around the house. She was amazing support with breastfeeding and all the mental and physical load it can encompass. Izzy also was a wonderful ear and provided sound advice in very challenging, emotional, and sleep-deprived times. She would wear our baby while plugging away in the kitchen to free our hands so we could care for ourselves in whatever way we needed - be it a nap, shower, walk, or even just a general pause. Her calm and warm presence, and compassionate heart truly radiated in my time with Izzy as our doula. Her holistic perspective of well-being aligned so well with mine, and I although I am done having kids - I do wish I could just have Izzy around as a friend because she truly is just that awesome.” - PK, postpartum client 2023

“While our family's postpartum experience was indeed meaningful and even magical, we are most grateful for how *manageable* the experience proved to be, in large part thanks to Izzy. Having outside help was the primary strategy for our postpartum support plan, and luckily we had Izzy to be that for us. We felt especially relieved knowing we had someone coming around regularly who knew something about newborns! We saved up our general and random questions and concerns for when she came, and appreciated her perspective and expertise. She taught us how to baby wear, massage the baby, and mainly: she cooked for us! She would also wear the baby while cooking so we could rest, take baths, etc. We weren't always as organized with the recipes and ingredients as we would have liked (it's hard!), but our fridge and freezer remained stocked. Izzy supported us for twenty-ish hours total over four weeks or so. To us, her presence and practice was calming, easy-going, wholesome, nurturing, and a bit whimsical/artful. I recommend hiring a doula for everyone who is able, as the kind of unique yet broad support they offer is unmatched by other supportive services during the postpartum period. We hope to grow our family and would have Izzy back in a heartbeat.” - HR, postpartum doula client 2022

“I could write 10 pages about how helpful she was for us. She was/is the best! If you're debating whether or not to hire Izzy, do it! We hired Izzy to support us with postpartum meal preparation and she absolutely exceeded our expectations. Izzy not only provided the nourishing nutritional support our family needed but as a first-time Mom, she also provided the emotional support and held the space for me that I didn't know I needed. She is a magician in the kitchen and extremely comfortable around newborns (she has some serious baby-whispering skills!). Izzy is a wealth of knowledge, compassionate, open-minded, kind, and helpful. She was very easy to communicate with and had so many helpful resources and past experiences that she was willing to share. Izzy became our favorite postpartum visitor and we knew that if she was there, everything was going to be ok! I highly recommend Izzy for any service she offers. She is absolutely worth the investment... so stop questioning whether or not to hire her and do it!” - MP, postpartum client 2020

“Izzy was an exceptional birth and postpartum doula for the birth of our second kiddo. I describe doula services to others as a therapist specifically around the birth experience... who can also cook, clean, provide child care.. basically the BEST investment in the mental and physical health of a new parent. Working with Izzy was truly a comfort and source of strength. Her support and communication before, during, and after birth gave me tremendous confidence and peace of mind in my body's own process. Her postpartum care was nothing short of magical- how does someone make such delicious meals in such a short time, and take care of a newborn? I highly recommend working with her, she has an energy and presence that you want in your life, particularly if you are navigating the journey of bringing a new life into this world!” - JC, birth and postpartum client 2021

“You have a really supportive in-laws and your partner cooks delicious food? I feel you, me too! I STILL hired Izzy and I’d do it again. Don’t get me wrong- it was her healthy food pics on Instagram that got me excited to welcome her into my postpartum experience. But ultimately it was her companionship that I found most valuable week over week. Today, eight months later, I still think about short teachings she’d share with me to chew on during check ins and self care discussions. It’s different than the kind of check in’s you do with family or peers. Izzy helped me cross some big fear and judgement thresholds to become more reflective and compassionate during a very tender time. I like to think that I operate at a high level of compassion already, but connections with Izzy about breast feeding, my own cravings, my levels of social comfort and so, so much more- helped me find ways for even softer self acceptance and a sweeter space for my babe. A safe space to steep my thoughts. Some days she’d hold baby and be with me while I cleaned my or my baby’s room because I need to feel productive. Many days she helped with the tidying. Please ask her to make you the chia date smoothie. Wow. I felt like I was on a vacation when she’d bring me one while I sat outside in early June and tried to relax guilt free. Not easy! Bottom line- you will learn a lot about life and love, you will feel comfortable to be as your are, you will be nourished, you will feel peaceful. Give it a go :)” -MV, postpartum client 2022

“We decided to hire Izzy as a postpartum doula with the birth of our second daughter. We don't have family in town to help so we opted to get a third pair of hands as we navigated the fourth trimester. We have not regretted our decision to work with Izzy! She has been wonderful to work with and has really helped us navigate through this challenging time. I think the most unique thing about Izzy's postpartum doula work is that she will wear your baby and cook for you at the same time. This has been a game changer for us. We are eating better food and spending less because we are not eating out as much or having to resort to frozen pizza. We have also used Izzy's time as an excuse to try out new recipes each week. Since it is tricky for hubby and I to cook when we have our infant and toddler, we have lived vicariously through Izzy's cooking. We now have many new recipes to add into our rotation once our kiddos get a bit older. Beyond cooking, Izzy has provided emotional support throughout the fourth trimester. Maternity leave can be boring and lonely so having her come each week is something that I can look forward to. I also look forward to having someone else care for my daughter for 4 blissful hours. :) Izzy is a whiz at getting my daughter to sleep in her baby carrier as she goes about cooking. All in all we are so happy we opted to work with Izzy. It has made our transition with 2 kids under 2 much better.” - JH, postpartum client 2021

“I’ve been fortunate enough to have Izzy as both my birth and postpartum doula and could not recommend her more! I didn’t know Izzy long before giving birth, but immediately felt at ease with her. Her knowledge and passion for birth was instantly apparent. Izzy worked hard to understand what I wanted and needed from my birth and provided support based on my personal situation. She was an amazing sounding board through my induction and gave me confidence I was making the right decisions for me, and my baby, at every stage. Her help postpartum has been such a relief as we have transitioned to our new life. She’s provided me with so much support - from watching our baby and three year old (who adores her), to doing dishes and laundry, and even providing nutritional support. When she leaves I am well fed, more rested, and don’t have to worry about catching up on housework. Izzy has been an invaluable resource for me during both birth and postpartum and has made this transition so much easier on everyone in our family.” - ES, birth and postpartum client 2020

“Throughout the five years that Isabel has worked for our family, she has brought a calm, mature presence to the care of our children. Caring for three young children can be hectic, chaotic, and stressful at times. Isabel was able to handle these instances with grace and composure, often utilizing skills from her training as a doula and yoga instructor. In helping to manage conflict and strong emotions, Isabel also recognizes the value of silence: she has the ability to sit and listen and be present, rather than filling up space with unnecessary words.  As I think back on the many different types of learners with whom I have worked over the course of my career, I recognize that some students, while having excellent book knowledge and test-taking skills, struggle to relate to the patients directly in front of them. In contrast, Isabel will bring an innate ability to form compassionate connections with the patients for whom she cares. Isabel is also genuinely curious about the people and world around her. She knows how to ask questions to learn more about others and to expand her own knowledge base. Isabel has consistently shown a commitment to and passion for the field of health care as evidenced by her work as a doula and Ayurvedic health counselor. Isabel understands that healing comes in many forms and that physical cure is only one aspect of such healing. Sometimes, the simple act of sitting down and providing a compassionate presence is everything to patients and their families. I believe without a doubt that Isabel possesses such qualities and skills, which will make her an outstanding addition to the field of nursing. I have trusted Isabel with the three most important people in my life and would wholeheartedly trust her in caring for patients as well.” -SW, childcare client 2015-2020

“Izzy Adair - The most supportive doula I could’ve asked for. When I first came upon Izzy’s website, I just knew she was the perfect fit for our family. Her energy is so grounding and with all of her experience and certifications it was just affirming that she was the right fit. Throughout pregnancy I received great support from Izzy. She provided tons of resources to help ease some of the anxiety about what I was about the experience. During the birth it was extremely helpful to have her there. It being my first baby I wasn’t totally sure what to anticipate. She took the anxiety away, and I was so calm through my labor. Izzy was also very supportive to my partner and his experience was just as loving and memorable as mine. Izzy is someone you can count on! Thank you for such a divine experience, I would love to do it all over again.” - AW, birth doula client 2023

“Hiring Izzy as my postpartum doula was one of the best decisions I made while recovering from birth and transitioning into new motherhood. At first, I was nervous about having someone come and help me in my home, but I was struggling with keeping up with household tasks and cooking while also recovering and caring for my newborn. Izzy has helped me by preparing and cooking meals for the week, doing dishes, doing laundry, taking out the trash, and cleaning out my pantry. She also cares for my newborn so that I can shower, nap, or take a much-needed break. Izzy is also great to talk to about the stressors of new motherhood and has offered me many helpful recommendations. Izzy's support and assistance during this transition has been invaluable. I wholeheartedly recommend her to any new mom!”- KK, postpartum client 2021

“Izzy was a wonderful source of support for me and my family in the early weeks following my daughter’s birth. We specifically sought her out for her knowledge of Ayurveda as I wanted to follow an Ayurvedic diet in the early postpartum. Izzy prepared delicious meals for us, many of which were quite complicated so I wouldn’t have been able to enjoy them without her patience and energy in the kitchen (cashew chia seed milk and herbal zoom balls take time!). Izzy’s gentle presence and compassionate listening skills were an added bonus. Thank you, Izzy, for nourishing us when we needed it most!” - WP, postpartum client 2017

“If I’m being honest we really questioned the idea of hiring a doula. Knowing what I know now I really laugh at the notion we thought we could do it alone. Izzy served as an unwavering support system for both my partner and I throughout our entire birth process, and boy was it was a process. I’ll spare you the long winded details but let’s just say a very long natural labor turned c section with an ambulance transfer thrown in was in no way our intended birth plan. But Izzy was there, through it all, she kept calm and made us feel safe even when things were taking a dramatic turn. She held me through the most immense physical and emotional challenge I have ever experienced. She helped to make sure my partner felt confident in supporting me. She made what most would refer to as a traumatic birth experience feel manageable.  She also worked with us before our labor and gave us helpful suggestions for exercise, diet and overall wellness. I especially love how much she considered our relationship in all of her suggestions. She truly is just a wonderful human being who also happens to be an outstanding doula. I cannot recommend her services enough.” - EK, birth client 2020

“Izzy is amazing. We felt so lucky to have her help as a postpartum doula. She has a very open and caring way about her that made everyone in our house feel comfortable. The Ayurvedic recipes she recommended and cooked were delicious. She gave the absolute best baby manicures. I enjoyed the well-needed breaks but appreciated our conversations most. We’d hire her again in a heartbeat.” - MF, postpartum client 2021

“I took several wonderful prenatal yoga classes while pregnant, but I most looked forward to the one Izzy taught. She had a calming, authoritative presence that immediately put me at ease and inspired confidence in her instruction throughout the practice. When I found out she was a doula, I could think of no one else I would want by my side during the birth of my child. Hiring Izzy as our doula was the best decision we made as we prepared for our child. We took her prenatal partner yoga and massage course and my husband later said he knew she would be a great doula because she obviously had so much knowledge and communicated it so clearly. Although I took a childbirth course, I learned so much more detailed information from Izzy's classes and from our individual meetings. When I started getting nervous about the labor and delivery portion of my pregnancy, Izzy addressed this by helping me understand exactly what was going to happen and reassuring me that I would not be alone. Indeed, through an unexpected induction and very long labor, she was available by text and phone, ready to join us at the hospital at a moment's notice. When we did finally call her in, she brought that same calming presence and knowledge to the delivery room. She helped ease my discomfort with massage and when it came time to push, she was right there, encouraging and cheering me on. All the while, she also managed to take beautiful photographs and a video of the delivery for us, which we treasure to this day. I took her mama and baby yoga class for several months the following year, and her guidance helped me manage the challenges of my postpartum body. From start to finish, Izzy was the most professional, helpful, and sympathetic presence I could have asked for, and I am so grateful I had the chance to work with her.”- CH, birth client and yoga student 2019

“We can’t thank Izzy enough for how much wisdom and help she brought into my labor and delivery experience. I was in active labor for over 24 hours and Izzy coached my husband and I in what to do, came up with ways to change up my positioning to make me more comfortable and gave my husband relief when he needed a second to get some air. We tell everyone we couldn’t have done it without her! I can’t forget the beautiful photos she took and the moments that were captured forever :) Having a doula is such an important part of the labor and delivery experience and her job is so incredibly important in all that she does for women, families and babies during such a monumental life experience. We are forever grateful for choosing you, Izzy, to be our doula! Plus, she was a huge help postpartum when I needed to get my hair done or take a nap!” - AO, birth and postpartum client 2021

“Izzy's prenatal classes have been such a joy! Her classes have given me a lot of confidence going into birth, not to mention more body awareness and mobility. She manages to smoothly combine yoga, meditation, and birth education all in to one class. Thank you, Izzy, for helping me stay calm and confident during my last trimester!" - SE, yoga student 2021

“All yoga is great yoga, but there are times when it just clicks and you get that "this was exactly what I needed feeling," it resets you differently. In my practice, connection with my teacher is important to me. When I found out I was pregnant I knew my body was going to need certain types of movement and stretching while still gaining some strength in this new body. My body also knew it needed to move a certain way though so finding the class right for me took a bit. When I took my first class with Izzy, it clicked, instantly and although I have been taking virtual classes, that immediate connection with her was there. Izzy has this overall sense of calm and it radiates to everyone around her. While not only feeling that calmness, her guidance through breath and movement along with education about what is happening in our mama growing bodies is right there in the practice as well (it's like she has spidey senses for all her students and what part of the body needs to be worked on). At the end of every class I have felt more relaxed, a little stronger and ready to move forward with the next part of my day. At the end of each class I'm eager to get to our next one! I highly recommend taking Izzy's classes.” - CD, postpartum client and yoga student 2022

“Izzy was incredible! I hired her when I was due with baby #2. All I can say is I wish I could have hired her for our first baby too! If you are able to hire a doula for your postpartum journey I encourage you to connect with Izzy. She came into our space with absolutely no judgement and supported me as I navigated 2 under 2. And that support presented itself in the form of folded laundry, home cooked meals, therapy sessions and much more. I am so thankful I had the chance to work with Izzy and would do it again in a heartbeat!” - EH, postpartum doula client 2023

“As busy professionals we have our hands full with a toddler and need help preparing nutritious meals that our son can share. The recipes Izzy suggests are becoming staples for us. She visits once a week to prepare our favorites and we now look forward to leftovers for the rest of the week. The favorites list keeps expanding. Izzy is extremely efficient; what would take us a whole day (without childcare interruptions) gets done perfectly within 2-3 hours. That all said, we for sure are not taking advantage of Izzy’s full skill set — this is the quality of service we are talking about here, which is very hard, if not impossible, to match.” - UG, personal cooking client 2021

“I am 100% glad I had Izzy as my doula at the birth of my daughter. Everything about it would have been much harder without her. This was my first child and a lot of what was required of me both physically and mentally to progress in labor and delivery was counter-intuitive to me. Without Izzy there to offer gentle feedback about what might be more helpful, I'm not sure how I would have done it (I would have figured it out I guess, but it would have been way more stressful!). With Izzy there, I was able to give birth vaginally without an epidural and without any tearing. Delivering my daughter without an epidural was very important to me and I'm certain having a doula helped me to do that, especially given I was induced. Izzy offered massage between contractions that kept me relaxed, and offered verbal feedback during contractions that allowed me to better follow my own body to let it do what it was built to do. She also really successfully modeled more helpful and supportive behavior for my husband, who is very much a man of few words. Despite that, by midway through my labor he was offering verbal encouragement. Those moments with my husband are very precious to me now in retrospect and were really helpful to me in the moment. Izzy also helped me understand what was normal, especially when I began to worry that I was not progressing fast enough (she assured me that I was doing great!). On top of all that, at some times Izzy was able to translate what the doctors were telling me to some extent, which helped me feel reassured and confident in what I was doing. I am so grateful for her for being there and helping to make my daughter's birth a happy experience for us and something I can feel proud of. Thank you so much Izzy!” -MW, birth doula client 2021

“My husband and I worked with Izzy as our birth doula and were pleasantly surprised that she offered birth photography as part of this experience. I was a little nervous to see photos of such a vulnerable and intense experience, but Izzy was really supportive and waited to send them until I was ready for them. When I saw my gallery, I was honestly blown away. The first moments of meeting my daughter and as a family of three happened in a blink of an eye, so I am SO grateful to have these beautiful, intimate photos that I’ll cherish forever.” -KR, birth doula client 2021

“From the moment my water broke to the moment our daughter was placed in my arms my labor and delivery was nothing like what I had imagined. Because of Izzy, the unexpected became a journey that I am able to now look back on with incredible pride and gratitude. In the weeks leading up to labor, Izzy built a strong foundation of comfort and trust with my partner and me. She came to our home and helped us process our fears, excitements and uncertainty. When she walked into our hospital room to support me during labor I was instantly calmed by her smile, warm energy and steadfast commitment to staying present with me. The 24 hours that I was in labor were the most vulnerable, challenging and intimate moments of my life. Izzy made me feel safe. She jumped in when needed: holding me through contractions, testing different positions and pressure points, offering essential oils, cool towels, hot showers and bites to eat. She provided space when the moment felt right to help me find my inner strength and encouraged my partner and I to keep going, remain connected and focused on the end goal…our baby girl! When the time came to make the difficult decision to proceed with a c-section, Izzy was by our side advocating for us, posing thoughtful questions and reminding us of the things that we had previously shared were important to us. She knew this was not what we had hoped or planned for, but she encouraged me to listen to my body and instincts which were telling me that something was not as it should be and this was the right decision. She demonstrated unwavering and judgement free encouragement. I am overcome with gratitude for her selfless love and support that Izzy provided to us. I am proud of what I was able to accomplish during labor and know that having Izzy by our side truly made this possible. Thank you Izzy for sharing in the most wild ride with us. You will ALWAYS have a piece of our hearts and if we welcome another life into our family we will certainly hope you can be with us by our side!!” - JLG, birth doula client 2021

“We hired Izzy as our birth doula for the birth of our first child. My birth was very short and relatively straightforward, but the period after - postpartum healing, challenges with nursing, emotional hurdles - were anything but easy. Izzy really shone in the initial postpartum period, providing a lot of tactical advice and resources around feeding, nutrition, and body healing. But she also provided so much emotional care and support- holding both my feelings and my partners feelings as we navigated this transition. I also appreciated how Izzy was able to discuss both the small hurdles facing us in this moment as well as the larger structural and societal expectations that make this time difficult. Being people of color, we also appreciated Izzy’s cultural competencies, recognizing and accepting without judgement that our families may do things differently and not making blanket recommendations that wouldn’t work for us and our communities. We’re delighted to stay connected to Izzy and consider her a friend!” - MD, birth client 2021

“Izzy is a gift to new moms! My birth doula recommended I hire Izzy as my postpartum doula knowing I had very little local support. It was one of the best decisions I’ve made! I could not have survived those weeks without her support. Everyone in my house, dog included, loved Izzy! I have a very hard time asking for and accepting help. Izzy brings a calm, confident energy that allows even an extreme type A person like myself relax. By the end of our time together I was begging her to move in! I still dream of the yummy food she made for me during that time. Forever grateful to Izzy.” - JW, postpartum doula client 2022

“My husband and I are a busy entrepreneur couple running a growing business. First baby, no relatives as support system nearby, and a global pandemic left us feeling desperate for help to ensure a positive experience for our family in the weeks and months postpartum. Hiring Izzy was the best decision we could have possibly made. She met with us prior to the birth of our baby to get to know us and align how she could best support us after baby’s arrival. Izzy was with us for the first 3 months postpartum, 3 days a week. She is a wizard in the kitchen and this was possibly the biggest value we got out of her support - we love to eat well and she ensured we were able to continue to eat wholesome, fresh, nutritious food despite having no time to prepare anything ourselves. In fact, we found that she could make more food during the week than we could keep up with eating. She provided other support as well, including always checking in on me to see how I was doing physically and emotionally with postpartum recovery, as well as with baby. She’s a total baby whisperer and could always soothe a crying baby - in fact she did much of the food prep while wearing baby in a carrier and allowing me some much-needed time for a nap or a workout. She also helped out with a myriad of random things around the house from laundry to organizing baby clothes and loving up on our family dog - to allow me to focus on our new baby. We hit some road bumps in our nursing journey early on and Izzy was an incredibly supportive, calming and grounding presence in our lives while we navigated baby weight issues, pumping & bottle-feeding, nursing strikes, and ultimately getting baby back to nursing and healthy weight gain. I can’t say enough about what great energy Izzy brought to our home - we sensed this from our first meeting with her. Throughout the 3 months she was an invaluable sounding-board for my baby or labor recovery "questions du jour", and always had new ideas, expert referrals and was just a supportive non judgmental listener. Finally, having Izzy around during the pandemic, when we had very little live interaction with others due to being very cautious with a newborn in the family, was something really lovely and special and made it feel like it wasn’t just the two of us and a baby, isolated from the world. We feel incredibly lucky and privileged to have been able to enjoy the services and support Izzy provides and will be forever grateful. I am such an advocate for her work that I have referred her to multiple friends and colleagues who are expecting babies.” - RK, postpartum client 2021

“Izzy is the best. I hired her as a postpartum doula for my third pregnancy. She made the experience and transition to a family of five manageable and magical. She’s thoughtful, communicative, warm and an absolute joy to have in your home. Hiring Izzy was the best decision I’ve made for my family. Because she was so attentive to our needs, my husband and I could provide our older children with more attention, making the transition easier for the whole family. She’s a consummate professional with a true gift of care taking. I’d hire her again and again except I’m all done having babies.” - CC, postpartum client 2022

“Hiring Izzy and allowing my self to receive her care was one of the most healing, empowering and nourishing decisions of my life. I have been through a lot medically and can have a hard time receiving and allowing others to support me or feel self-conscious during the most vulnerable postpartum time. (This is my third baby). I knew though that I wanted this support and I shared with Izzy the nourishment and support that I craved. It was so clear to me the deep steadiness that she embodies and her understanding of food and the medicine of presence during this time. She is so knowledgeable. When I told Izzy that I was craving umami flavors she recommended blood work to check for anemia and she was correct. I can close my eyes and still feel myself in a bathtub and feel the steady and strong pressure of Izzy’s hands on my back, on my wrists, present in the silence, meeting me, guiding my partner during my birth. Guiding me to bring the sound all of the way down, to vocalize deeper and allow the opening rather than going high with my voice. Allowing by body to sink and open, to trust. During birth Izzy helped me to tune into what I felt I needed and allow my body to do what it needed. She just held amazing space and made me feel that I had the time to do what I needed without being rushed. I remember being surprised just by the firmness and the strength and the steadiness of her hand as she gave me pressure. Our prenatal visits were wonderful also.Izzy stayed until we were settled in the delivery room after our baby was out and I was so thankful that she was also our postpartum doula and that our time could continue and she was there through it all. I loved resting in the same room as Izzy as she cooked and smelling the scents and witnessing the colors and the textures. And it also really helped me to find a foundation to begin to cook again. Knowing what to eat and listening to my body and experiencing food as medicine. And when Izzy came for four hours I was almost always in a deep and calm space of rest and surrender by the time that she left. Her presence was like medicine and I said today I felt that she bends time as I felt permission to surrender and nourish in her presence and was so deeply rested by the time that she left each day. Her presence is so nourishing and steady. Her food is delicious and we have talked about what my body needs in different seasons and different moments of my healing. I think that giving myself and ourselves the gift of this time and nourishment and support with Izzy has allowed a foundation shift for me as a person and for our family. She has connected with and really also sees our other bigger kids. And the gift of rest and nourishment, I hope to continue to live and embody for a very long time. I especially recommend Izzy to those in the field of holistic medicine and those who understand food as medicine. Really what I want to say is thank you. And I cannot express how ongoing and transformative the medicine of Izzy is. This is my third baby and absolutely the most emotionally steady and strong body postpartum time that I have had. It is so because of Izzy. Truly, the foundation of our home continues to be transformed. We are still eating soups that she froze for us three months later. And I am able to nourish my family with so much more ease since our time with Izzy also as I learned from her. I am so thankful that we made the choice to hire Izzy for our birth and have her with our family for over three months after birth. And allow her to bring us the medicine of herself and her food and wisdom and so much I would not have known without her. It is still so healing and I really learned how to receive from Izzy. And am so thankful for her presence and nourishment and wisdom and love.” - TG, postpartum doula client 2022

“Izzy provides care for the whole family in the 4th trimester and is willing to step in to support wherever needed. She’s skilled in many areas, but we primarily focused on meal prep to help keep us nourished in the weeks following our daughters arrival. Izzy helped take a huge mental load off of our plate and we also benefited from her wealth of knowledge and used the visits to process each week and chat about how things were going so she could share resources and tips in areas like babywearing, lactation support, etc. We highly recommend her services and hope to work with her again!” - KB, postpartum client 2022

"I'm so glad we decided to work with Izzy as our postpartum doula to help guide our family through the fourth trimester with our second son! My only regret is not having known about her with my first child because she is incredibly helpful in so many ways. Izzy has a very warm and comforting presence and at every visit took the time to check in with me, my husband and 3 yr old son to see how we were doing and offer both practical advice and emotional support. Izzy is there for just about anything you need postpadrom, but her speciality is cooking comforting and healing meals made with love and care, all while baby wearing. Even as a second time mom, there were so many things I forgot about caring for a newborn and she helped answer all of my questions/concerns (instead of me stressing and googling them). She is extremely knowledgeable and helpful with general newborn care,  breastfeeding/lactation support, baby sleep tips, and recommendations for when to seek out an expert opinion when something might be off. For example, my son had a lip/tongue tie which was leading to a poor latch and a very uncomfortable, gassy baby. Izzy gently pushed me to get it checked out by a pediatric dentist and also recommended chiropractic and additional lactation support. I'm so glad I listened to her because feeding has improved immensely and our baby is so much happier and less fussy. I would highly recommend Izzy to anyone for their postpartum birth support, she made the fourth trimester more manageable and enjoyable. I will miss having her in our home on a weekly basis." - AS, postpartum client 2022

“I hired Izzy to be my postpartum doula after the birth of my second daughter. The first go around I did not have a doula and I knew I wanted more support after the birth of my second baby. My instincts were right. I was so relieved to have Izzy come to my home each week. She is an amazing chef, listener and yoga teacher. I felt so much more at ease after her visits and also prepared for the week ahead with meals. It was such a relief to know our family had nutritious and delicious food ready to go. Do yourself a favor and work with Izzy!” - EY, postpartum client 2022
